steve_fiddler Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 A neighbour has a lovely boxed Wheatstone 48 button English concertina with chromed metal ends. It is in lovely condition but he has very little idea of what price to sell it for. It is numbered 32624. As I am a fiddle player I have no idea about what value to place on it or where to sell it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Stephen Chambers Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 A neighbour has a lovely boxed Wheatstone 48 button English concertina ... It is in lovely condition but he has very little idea of what price to sell it for. Back in the 1970s I bought a Wheatstone 48-key of similar vintage off the original owner (in East London), who insisted he didn't want to get any more than he'd payed for it new, whilst I was adamant that I was going to give him more. Those were the days... Your neighbour has a very desirable instrument there, though it's likely to need an overhaul.
steve_fiddler Posted April 11, 2016 Author Posted April 11, 2016 Thank you for your replies. I will pass on the information to my neighbour.
steve_fiddler Posted April 11, 2016 Author Posted April 11, 2016 Yes, I did get the number incorrect! Thanks for pointing that out to me.
Fenterlarick Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Hi, I'm looking to buy an English Concertina. I assume the one mentioned in 2016 has been sold. Any others available? Tricia in USA
Ken_Coles Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 There are half a dozen nice Englishes on offer this weekend at the Northeast Squeeze-In in Connecticut, so there are quite a few of them out there. You'll hear from potential sellers before long, I expect. Ken
