Takayuki YAGI Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Hi all, I just noticed hobgoblin lists "Henry Healey Oblong Anglo" here . For me, its button layout and key (C/F#) looks unusual. Does anyone know this maker ? Is this English or German ?? Any input will be appreciated. Regards, -- Taka
David Helmore Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Hi! I saw this instrument a few weeks ago in the London Hobgoblin shop. From memory, I think there was also a London road name on the label. I felt it was of German origin and sold on at the time through a UK distributor Hope this helps! Dave
Chris Ghent Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 There is a nearly identical instrument locally, except I was sure it was called a Henry Harley rather than Healey. There are references to them on C.net, search under Henry Harley. The local one is slow and quiet, but also very sonorous, a lot of fun to play. Chris
Takayuki YAGI Posted November 6, 2007 Author Posted November 6, 2007 Thank you Dave and Chris I searched using keyword Henry Harley and found the relevant topics and photos. http://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=1713 http://www.lvcott.fsnet.co.uk/others.htm#Harley I dig the photos I took last year at Horniman museum, and found one. I completely forgot seeing that ! Regards, Taka
Chris Ghent Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 If you want to talk to the local owner here about Harleys ping me offline and I'll send you his email address... Chris
